Virtual Event from AME
April 20th, 9:00 - 10:00am
An equity framework is a document that describes how an organization will govern and operate its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts. It provides all levels and segments of your workforce with the information, guidance, and accountability they need to be engaged and deliver on expectations. In this session, CultureBrokers will share a proven template that provides a useful foundation for achieving measurable and sustained DEI goals. We will discuss our process for developing the document and explore how each key component of the template would support your improvement efforts. Finally, we will explore how your own equity framework can help you meet the more rigorous Baldrige criteria related to DEI.
Virtual Event from AME
April 8th, 9:00 - 10:00am
Everyone makes a spelling mistake now and then, and most of us have clicked “send” on an unfinished email. While it’s embarrassing to make mistakes like these, you can probably recover from them with a quick edit, re-send, or phone call of apology. But some business writing mistakes, while common, will crush your reader’s willingness to plow through your document or their ability to understand what you’re trying to say. In this session, you’ll learn which business writing mistakes hurt your document or email the most. You’ll review real writing samples of people who work in engineering and analyze whether they’ve committed any of these crushing mistakes. You’ll also learn strategies for planning and editing your document, so you can avoid these errors.
Central Coast Lean Summit 2023 - Hybrid and In Person April 24th, 7:30am-5:00pm plus post-summit workshop an April 25th led by Katie Anderson
Join Central Coast Lean for the 13th annual gathering of thinkers and practitioners from around the “local” lean community as we explore how to integrate scientific thinking into your organization. In this Summit, experts and practitioners come together to ponder:
What does it mean to "think scientifically"?
What are the strategic advantages to a scientific approach?
How do you get managers to coach scientific thinking?
How do you get ALL your employees to practice scientific problem solving in their daily work?
This is the second Summit following two years of virtual Summits under COVID. This year we are "going hybrid" so in person and online participants can access the same great material with effective learning and interaction experiences. Our annual Summit continues to source innovative lean ideas and “treatments’ in our ongoing experiment to build a community of lean practice on the Central Coast. This year we learn how to learn in hybrid mode: the future of work.

Virtual Event from AME - The Anatomy of Trust

In this interactive presentation, we will analyze the key elements to trust, and the keystone quality of strong and healthy relationships. Trust is a situationally dependent quality. We will break it down and explain it so you can apply it to your work and personal life. There will be ample time for Q&A.
Virtual Event from AME - Operationalizing Equity.
Tuesday, June 6th, 9:00am
CultureBrokers defines equity as “results that do not differ by race, ethnicity, culture, and other meaningful differences.” Interpreted in this way, equity moves from an abstract and amorphous concept toward a practical, structured effort. In this session, we will share how you can operationalize equity using this definition via three big objectives: Proving Commitment, Leveraging Structure and Being Disciplined. We will explore some key principles and related actions in support of these objectives which can ultimately become a living, valuable part of the way your organization behaves. Finally, we will crosswalk this with the Baldrige DEI criteria so you can see how these support each other.
